In the meantime, I'd been seeing Wreck This Journal online (specifically on Tumblr) and was intrigued. The other night I did some research and decided I wanted one. Luckily, mom & I were going to go to Barnes & Noble yesterday and I found one!
During the process of this book you will get dirty. You may find yourself covered in paint, or any other number of foreign substances. You will get wet. You may be asked to do things you question. You may grieve for the perfect state that you found the book in. You may begin to see creative destruction everywhere. You may begin to live more recklessly.

They had 3 different cover designs, but this red one really attracted me. I intend to post pics of my progress on Tumblr, but I thought it might be cool to post here as well.
My hope is that this will be a great way to motivate me into using the Smash Journals. Of course, the practical side of me says, "But this is a book. You paid money for this ($15). You can't just destroy it!" But then that's the whole point of this book...to break free of the confines of perfectionism, to be creative, to be destructive. I'm looking forward to it as much as I'm afraid of the first steps. It'll be a challenge, that's for sure. I was taught to take care for books, that they were things to be revered and respected. So wrecking a book? Goes against all my childhood training. But I want to do this. I want to push myself to break those boundaries.
