Vancouver on my mind...

I just want to say that even though I had a busy day yesterday, I couldn't help thinking about Supernatural. Just to the north, in lovely Vancouver, Canada, they began filming the second season. I kept imagining Jensen and Jared getting up early and showing up on the set, eager to begin their work. Makes me anxious to get back on a film set myself. It's been over a month and I'm getting eager to get back together with everyone on our student film. I'm actually a member of the documentary crew and I miss my buddies! I'm the only woman working with three guys. They are great guys, too, and we've been working together for six months now. The word was that we would resume filming sometime in late July or early August, so I'm waiting for the call.

So meanwhile, I wait and wait, and wish I was on the set of Supernatural. Nothing unreasonable, really. I'd love to be Script Supervisor. I mean...I do have experience. Only two small productions, but it is something.

I just wish we could get films and TV shows to film in my neck of the woods again (the Seattle / Puget Sound area of Washington state) like we did in the nineties. Back when Northern Exposure was filmed here there was lots of film work and many opportunities. Many films were shot here. Now, there's nothing. It's a shame, too, because there are lots of good people here with the training and the experience to work in film and TV. So I keep waiting and hoping while Vancouver gets all the jobs and the fun. *sigh!*

So, I haven't had a chance to finish working on my review of "Home" yet. Thanks to a bunch of fine folks over at http://community.livejournal.com/supernatural_tv I got confirmation about the title of that episode.

spoilers ahead - you have been warned!

There's been much speculation, excitement, horror, and dread about the latest sides posted online for the first and second episodes of the new season. The consensus on the first episode appears to be positive, but the second episode does not have many fans. Apparently, two female characters are going to be introduced to the show. Not exactly something I agree with, but I'm willing to wait until I see the episode. This is a bold move by Kripke and hopefully it won't ruin the great show so many of us love. I do get the feeling these two characters are not going to be seen all that much, which would be very good news. Like the saying goes.."If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
