This has always been a favorite image of mine. I love the simple beauty of it.
I'm getting lots of great theme week ideas. Keep'em coming! :D
So glad it's Friday even though I know the weekend will fly by too quickly. And we're going to get rain. Rain!!! The Puget Sound area has gone over 80 days without significant rainfall. Can you believe it? I can't wait to see the raindrops. Bring it on! Look for some more VanCon 2012 photos posts this morning. Gotta love that scheduled posting feature. ;)
Have a good Friday folks. *hugs*

Review: Beauty & The Beast Pilot

It wasn't even my idea to watch this remake of the 1980s cult TV show, but mom wanted to check it out so...

It was boring and laughable. Granted, I have fond memories of watching the original series as a kid and I loved Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman. It was a fantasy show, with that entire society in the tunnels under the city. It fed my romantic notions and I was shipping Catherine and Vincent before I even knew shipping existed.

Sadly, this remake has very little to do with the original outside of the character's first names. Calling the show Beauty & The Beast is a joke, considering the Beast is a good looking guy (though he's no Jensen or Jared) with only a scar to mar his attractive features. I honest to goodness giggled internally when he hulked out before Catherine for the first time, trying to scare her off. All that happened was that his eyes glowed, veins in his face bulged, and his voice changed. Really? This guy's a beast? Oh my goodness, I think I'll swoon! LMAO Maybe he kills with his scary voice, which sounded like it got some computerized help.

Kruek is okay, but I kept thinking I was seeing Lana Lang playing the role of a cop. Her female partner is a walking cliche' (thin, pretty, sassy), as is the British coroner that has a crush on Catherine. Sad stuff really. I expect this series will quickly go the way of last year's The Secret Circle.

Btw, I've downloaded the pilot ep of Arrow, but haven't seen it yet. I have much more hope for it.

VanCon 2012 Photos: Russ Hamilton

Over a month after the convention and I'm finally ready to start posting my photos. :P
Hey, these things take time. Hopefully you'll think of these photos as a fine wine, worthy of the time it takes to perfect.

NOTE: If you're looking for my thoughts about the panels, you'll sadly be disappointed. I've learned that you either pay close attention to the guests (sometimes taking notes or Tweeting) or you take photos. You can't do both. It's impossible. At least I can't. So my memories of the panels is foggy at best. I'll have to watch videos shot by others to refresh my own memory. :P

I realize Russ isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I don't have a big problem with him, mainly because I've been around his kind on independent film productions. My first student film experience battle hardened me real fast. As usual, getting any real info. about locations or the production from Russ can be a crap shoot, but I enjoyed his panel all the same.

After a bit of a rough start getting photos during the first panel of the day with Russ, I think I did a better job with Julie. I hadn't seen Julie since she attended the first VanCon back in 2009, but that time she was in a panel with Alona Tal and Traci Dinwiddie. It was nice to see her on her own and naturally some time was spent talking about the love scene with Jensen in "Heaven And Hell". *g*

VanCon 2012 Photos: Mark Sheppard & Mark Pellegrino

Joint panels are great fun IMO. You get a cool dynamic when two guests (or more) are up on the stage and in almost every case they bounce off each other really well. That was certainly the case with these two. Enjoyed them answering the question of what kind of hell they'd have for each other and their characters. There was a lot of talk about Sheppard's various rolls, but I didn't notice until afterward, that nobody brought up Pellegrino being on Lost. Shame, considering that's the only other thing I've seen him in besides playing Lucifer on SPN. Mark Sheppard didn't want to stay on stage, which meant, unfortunately, that I didn't get many photos of him, and what I did get is more often than not out of focus. *sigh* I'll just have to do better next year.

Danneel posts video of "Exercise Twins"

This is great only for the fact that: 1) It was taken from Jensen & Danneel's car while they were driving one night and 2) You can hear Jensen laughing and commenting. :D

Tried to embed the video, but LJ was having none of it. So I'll give you the link to Danneel's tweet and to the video itself.

It's small and upside down, but who cares? It's fun and I love hearing Jensen laugh. :D
Btw, I was able to download the video if anyone wants it. ;)
