Reports that I never sleep are highly overrated

Ok, it's time to start answering your questions (thank you, btw) and I start with this one by daisychain1957:

When do you sleep Val and for how long, you post at all hours of the day and night?

I realize it often seems like I never sleep, but believe me, I do. My body actually LOVES to sleep. LOL More on this in a bit.

The short answer is that I usually do all my daily posts late at night or to be precise in the early hours of the morning before I go to bed. Then there are other posts that I set up to be schedule-posted later. Comes in quite handy when you want to post something right away because you have the time at the moment, but you realize it's a bad time to be posting something to LJ (like when everyone on the east coast of the US is still in bed).

I usually do my Daily On The Set post over at spn_ontheset first, then I do the SPN Goes Black & White or the Daily Fanart post (if it's the weekend or whatever), third is my SPN Name That Cap 4 Challenge (on Tuesdays & Fridays), and finally...I wrap it all up with the Just 'Cause post. By then it's 3, 4, 5, or later in the morning and it's way past time for bed. :P

But lately, my life has changed a bit and I'm having to get to bed a bit earlier (and wake up WAY earlier - UGH!)...so moving up my posting times to just after midnight is a real pain! LOL But I'll adjust somehow.

My body loves to sleep though, and I'm often taking naps so don't worry that I'm not getting enough my friends. Sometimes I only get 5 hours each night, but I inevitably end up taking a nap after supper. This is because I get sleepy after I eat. Unless I'm doing something more physical than websurfing I will nod off for an hour or so. Sadly, this almost always messes up me for sleeping later on when I should be in bed. It's a constant struggle. But usually I can sleep at the drop of a hat. I suspect some of that came from my college days when I sometimes had to grab a cat nap in a busy, noisy library.

I hope that answers your question. Sorry for getting long-winded. :P

Feel free to ask me more questions over HERE.

January 2014 SPN Calendar Images

After Saturday's successful poll, I heard you all loud and clear: You still want these calendar posts. Okay then! :D

Unlike last year, this time I was able (and wanted) to buy the 3 calendars put out by Creation. I ended up buying them through TV Merch, but whatever...what counts is that I've got them. :D

Ended up using a white towel as my backdrop with only natural light. I think it works quite well.

SPN Goes B&W: Sleeping Dean

 photo SPNGoesBampWBanner_zpsd1550b75.jpg
Thought I'd try something different. This isn't for the Just 'Cause posts though the idea is similar to when I ask for requests there. I miss doing B&W fanart, so I thought I'd ask for everyone's help in choosing caps.

:: You can request up to 5 different caps at a time, in the comments of any SPN Goes B&W post.
:: If I don't have exactly what you request, I'll try to find something similar.
:: If you request something specific, the more detail you can give me, the better.
:: Vague requests are also welcome (something Dean, Sam, demon, angel, weapon, action, hands, arms, sad, happy, etc).

Today's fanart is for lezendame who wanted "SLEEPING DEAN!!!!!". I can do that. LOL
These are from S4's "Wishful Thinking" (poor, hell-haunted Dean) and S5's "The End" (bewildered, time-traveling Dean).

Dean profile anyone?
Have a good Monday folks. And I hope my Eastern US flisters & followers are keeping safe & warm in the bitter cold back there! *hugs*

Printer woes

Remember the instant love affair I had with my new Epson 3-in-one XP-600 printer before VanCon last year?

Well...it's over. 7463503d4f307d1c4c91d9637308ca122ff0c18

After working like a dream at scanning and printing beautiful full color prints for the con and then working again upon my return, it's now turned into a nightmare. Even with 2 full black in cartridges it won't print. I get hints of black text and sometimes none at all. I've cleaned the nozzles heads repeatedly to no avail and even replaced perfectly good ink cartridges to have them not work either.

Did some research online about it and it turns out I'm not alone. Many others who've bought this Epson printer have run into the exact same problem. Turns out calling the company is no help. They simply send you a refurbished printer that also doesn't work! One woman said she was on her 4th printer that Epson had sent her. Everyone's gone the same route I have: clean the nozzles endlessly, replace the ink - none of it helps. All this after Consumer Reports rated it one of the best printers! But the thing is....it works great for the first month or two. Then it up and quits! Though I did read of a few people running into trouble with it right out of the box.

So I'm now looking for a new printer. *sigh*

I've already tracked down an HP one that seems to get good reviews from consumers. My first 2 printers were HP (the 2nd one still works, in fact) so I feel comfortable returning to them. Forget about Epson! I'm sick of spending tons of money on ink that won't print!

Anyone have any printer horror stories?
Any of you have any printers you'd recommend?

It has to be a 3-in-one (printer, scanner, copier - I don't need it to fax), do double sided printing, and preferably have Wi-Fi capability so I can print from my Mac laptop. Oh, and printing excellent photos is a must!

My advice...stay away from Epson printers!
