First Impressions Review: 12x09 "First Blood"

Watched the episode kind of late, but here we go....back on the Season 12 train.

Nice re-cap!

Old guy: "The same corpse?"
Sanchez: "No, different corpses."

What???? LOL Yeah, they just kept desecrating the same corpse over and over again. XD

WTH? This guy just wants to kill Sam & Dean! o.O
At least the other guy wants to at least try and learn who the boys are.

Loving these pretty profile shots of the boys!!! :D
Same speech to them both. Sam looks a little scared....Dean? Silent with no reaction at all. Sam's jump at the door closing. :(

Mick....an old-school typewriter....that types by itself!!!!! Whoah.
Didn't they do that in Fringe, too?
Anyway, Mick's been going around to hunters and doing his British MOL pitch. We've got all the knowledge and toys.....play with us and just do as your told and all is good.
Yeah, that was to be expected. "The American hunters have proven....difficult."

C'mon Cas.....admit it. You screwed up.....again. *sigh*
And Mary, the boys were respecting your wishes and leaving you alone to work things out. You're the one who said you needed more time! Grrrrrrr.

Dean just happens to find a loose screw. Heh. To mark the days. Uh, how is he going to know the passage of time all locked up in a windowless room? Pretty sure there's no clock around either.

That's not a lot of food. At least there's apple juice. *g*
Heh. Dean's all...."Hmmm, not bad." and Sam turns his nose up at it. Nice little call back to their other prison ep (Folsom Prison Blues) where Dean liked the food and Sam didn't. ;)
Mmmmm....bologna, cheese, bread, and 6 potato chips...and apple juice.
Ah, so he's marking the days based on the meals each day. Wait....they only get one a day??? That sucks!
WTH is this??? I can't even identify it. And an apple along w/apple juice? Redundant much?

So Crowley doesn't care the boys are gone and he isn't going to help Cas at all. He seems pretty confident the boys will get out of whatever mess they're in all on their own and leave a string of bodies in their wake as always.

So Alisha (from the Asa Fox ep) calls Dean's phone and Mary answers....there's a werewolf pack problem in Louisiana and her and her brother need help. So Mary offers to help.

Meanwhile the days go by for the boys....Sam's working out and Dean's shaving??? They gave him an electric shaver?? This is a weird prison!
Okay, so by the end of that montage I think I counted 42 marks/days on Dean's wall.

Aw, poor Cas! He tried to work a vampire case like the boys would do, but couldn't and 3 more women died, so he left. He won't even go with Mary to take care of it. :(

Oh! Sam didn't pick up his food tray.....he's just laying on the bed. So is he really in trouble or just faking in order to attempt an escape? The guard did CPR but he declares him dead???? They go to Dean's cell....he's dead too! Wha?????

Okay, this had to be their plan, right? They had this all arranged somehow while they were taking that ride in the truck?

Again with the sad and suffering Cas....Mary's taking care of his vampire case.

Haha! I knew it!!! Boys alive!!!! But how??? What did they do????
They take the morgue guy's phone, but even he doesn't know where they are.

Well, they got outside easily. What, there aren't cameras all around this place???
This has gotta be a trap, right?
Cas!!!!! Where are you??? And without your phone?? Dude! The boys are trying to call you!!!! Sam finds a Colorado map.
Cas finally answers and the boys can see nearby mountains....dude! Colorado is full of mountains! LOL But hey, somehow Sam figures out where they are. *shakes head* Dean tells Cas and for him to meet up with them. Then he ditches the phone. Uh....shouldn't you just destroy it so they don't track who and where you called to??? *sigh*

Mary's been productive with that vampire problem. She's so relieved that her boys finally called!

Ooooh....it's manhunt time! With orders to shoot-to-kill. Yikes. This guy Sanchez means business now. Run, boys, run!!!!
Mary picks up Cas. I've been to this location!!!! Love it when I can spot a familiar place w/so little to go on. :D
He mentions getting help from Crowley & Rowena, but she smartly turns him down and then tells Cas to put his seat belt on 'cause she drives fast! Hee!

Why is that old dude out in the field anyway? They didn't have enough men to hunt the boys???

Dudes! You're leaving foot tracks in the mud!
Sam wants to talk about....this. Whatever that means, but Dean says later.

Cas called in the British MOL??? Yeah, Mary's not sure about this and neither am I.
Mick & Mr. Ketch find out the boys took out Lucifer with their help last time and seem suitably impressed. Mick keeps throwing out that olive branch, but yeah....we Americans are suspicious 'cause everything usually backstabs us somehow. You'd be cautious, too, dude! Friends? Uh, yeah we'll see...

Whoah, Mr. Ketch knows all about this place where the boys were - Site 94. Off the books and not supposed to exist. Well, aren't they a knowledgable bunch....satellites and all.

Uh, oh....they're catching up, boys! 'Cause you were stupid and left a track in the mud!! *sigh*
See, I would've tackled the guy before he went to answer his radio....
Ooooh, Dean's issuing a challenge! "We're not trapped out here with you, you're trapped out here with us!" Woot! Right on!!!!!

The boys find an abandoned house....with a big knife yet! And they've got the guard's gun, too. Ooooh, a bear trap. That'll work...if you're lucky. And a first aid kit....okay, what are they up to????

They took out 4 guards plus the 2 lead guys! That was friggin' amazing!!!!!
Then Sam just tells them that they saved the POTUS from possession by the devil and Dean says if they come after them again they know now what will happen. Badass!!!!
And they just walk away with Sam saying "We're the guys that save the world." Yeah!!!!! \0/ That's my friggin' Winchester boys!!!!!

Awwwww.....the boys reunited with Cas and Mary. Hugs all around!!!! ♥ :)
Yeah, you're telling me the BMOL are just going to do these favors for the boys without expecting anything in return? *iz suspicious*
Mr. Ketch is not happy that the boys left the soldiers alive....uh, oh.
They part ways with the boys saying they'll handle it. uh.....

Sam knew Mary couldn't stay away from hunting. Awww...
Uh, oh....something's wrong with the car....
"It's time..."
What is happening????
Billie!!!! Oh, boys....what did you do???? *worries*
They made a pact with Billie, in blood.....and by midnight a Winchester has to die forever. WTH????
Mary volunteers....Noooooooooo!!!!!! She's gonna shoot herself in the head!!!!
Yeah, CAS!!!!!!! He killed Billie!!!!! Bye, bye Billie. You were cool...for a reaper...even though you wanted the boys dead.
Wow, Cas. Thank you....and yes, it was a stupid deal, but it's the Winchester way, isn't it? ;)

Of course, Mr. Ketch did his usual clean-up job.
And Mick's found his avenue into the American hunter community.....dun, dun, duuuuun!!!! MARY! o.O
C'mon, Mary! Really??? You can't trust them!!!!!

Wow. Okay, way to come back from hiatus, show! This ep was kick-ass! In fact, this might have been the best ep of the season so far for me.

It's interesting that Dean was the one emotionally scared from the lock-up in prison and not Sam. Fandom was talking about Sam suffering due to his long time in the cage, but it looks like he wasn't bothered all that much - as far as we can tell. And you've gotta wonder if Dean wouldn't have felt as bad if he hadn't been keeping track of every day in that cell. Bad idea, dude.

I'm so glad Cas and Mary admitted their own screw-ups....sorta. At least they discussed them. Better than shoving them under the carpet and ignoring them....which I gotta admit, I expected the show to do. *shrugs* I really like them working together, too. They're a good team. :)

How amazing were Sam & Dean? I mean the way they took out those soldiers...friggin' fantastic!!! That's my boys! :D

Now to the deal with Billie...I'm thinking Dean was going to be the one to die at midnight. Why? 'Cause Sam wanted to talk about it when they were running through the woods. No doubt to try and talk Dean out of it and volunteer himself. "At least this way. One of us gets to keep fighting." Oh, boys!!! :( But then, of course, Mary steps up to sacrifice herself. And the boys had no idea she was even going to be there because they only talked to Cas on the phone so they thought he'd be alone. Damn. That was a near disaster there! Great on Cas for breaking the deal and killing Billie, but what will be the consequences???

Yep, I'm a very happy fangirl tonight. That was my show! Moreso than I've felt all season so far. Now let's see how these next few episodes go. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Mary: You left them!
Castiel: No, I. Dean told me to go, the woman-
Mary: The one you lost!?
Castiel: I didn't... I thought she-
Mary: Stop making excuses! Why if they needed help, why didn't they call me?

Castiel: Come on, Crowley, the police took them, you have people in the government. You have spies.
Crowley: I do. But whatever's happened to Moose and Squirrel, apparently it's above their pay grade.
Castiel: Do you even care that they're gone?
Crowley: No. Do you know how many all-powerful beings have tried to kill them?
Castiel: Roughly. Yes.
Crowley: As do I. I was bloody one of them. And Sam and Dean, they're like herpes. Just when you think they're gone 'Hello' the boys are back leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. So wherever they are, whoever has Sam and Dean. In the immortal words of Lawrence Tureaud, 'I pity the fool.'

Mary: I keep telling myself they're fine. They've only been gone-
Castiel: Six weeks, two days and ten hours.
Mary: We'll find them Castiel. We will. Until then, we'll just... We're doing our best.

Castiel: Did you hear about the murders in Lancaster, Missouri?
Mary: No.
Castiel: The women with their throats ripped out and blood drained.
Mary: Vampire.
Castiel: I saw it on the news and thought, 'that's the sort of thing Sam and Dean would investigate. They would roll into town. Save the day. Kill the monsters.' But with them gone. I tried to work the case. I tried. But I don't know what I did wrong. I-I asked questions. But, maybe they were the wrong people and the wrong questions, and I just... never found it. I never found the monster, never even got close. And three more women died before I left town. Before I ran away.

Mary: What do you think we're walking in to?
Castiel: I don't know. We may want back up. Crowley, Rowena.
Mary: The King of Hell, and his mother, the witch? I hope we can do better than that.

Mary: Seat belt on. I drive fast.

Mick: Mrs. Winchester. Mary. I came to this country to do one thing. Make friends. But you American hunters, you're-you're a different breed than our sort. You're surly, suspicious, you don't play well with others.
Castiel: Well, that is accurate.
Mick: You don't trust people you don't know, even when they come baring gifts. Now I can't help that, but I can help you. And if word were to get out that we did our part to save Sam and Dean Winchester, well that's just good business. Init? And who knows, when all this is over we may even be friends.

Dean Winchester: What we have here is a failure to communicate. We're not trapped out here with you, you're trapped out here with us.

Sam: You want the truth? The President was possessed, by the Devil. We saved his life. That's the truth.
Dean: Now you can take that and do what you want with it, but if you come after us. You know what will happen.
Camp: Who are you?
Sam: We're the guys that save the world.

Mary: Why would you?
Dean: We were already dead. Being locked in that cell, with nothing. I've been to Hell, this was worse.
Sam: At least this way. One of us gets to keep fighting.

Billie: “We made a pact bound in blood. You break that, there’s consequences on a cosmic scale.”

Dean: Cas what have you done?
Castiel: What had to be done. You know this world? This sad, doomed little world. It needs you. It needs every last Winchester it can get, and I won't let you die. I won't let any of you die. And I won't let you sacrifice yourselves, you mean too much to me. To everything. Yeah, you made a deal. A stupid deal, and I broke it. You're welcome.

Mick: Let me paint you a picture of a world without monsters or demons or any of those little buggers that go bump in the night. Of a world where no one has to die because of the supernatural. Of a new world. A better world.
Mary: I'm listening.
